What is TOPA?
The Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA) would give tenants the right to be told when their rental unit is about to be sold and given an opportunity to purchase it. It's that simple!
With the help of a community land trust, residents can gain partners who will help them buy and maintain their homes and build collective wealth for generations to come.
Who is the LA CLT Coalition?
The LA Community Land Trust Coalition is a growing BIPOC-led movement for community stewarded housing and land. Why do we say 'steward'? Because we are looking seven generations down the line and seeing how stable, dignified housing today creates ripples of change in the future.
Stable housing helps people get better jobs, seek advanced training, grow their families, start businesses, build vibrant communities for us all.
